VOTE TO GROW ST. LOUIS

Vote - Grow St. Louis

Monsanto has a long history of providing generous support to the St. Louis region, donating approximately $9 million last year and more than $97 million since 2000. Now is your chance to vote for the St. Louis area non-profit projects you think Monsanto should support.

Almost 160 St. Louis area non-profits, including Grace Hill, have submitted entries into Monsanto’s Grow St. Louis contest. Public voting will determine the top three winners of $15,000, $10,000 and $5,000 grants from Monsanto.

You are invited to www.stlgrown.com to vote for Grace Hill - Babies Get an Early Head Start at Grace Hill's Centering Pregnancy Program. You can vote 1 time per day from Jan. 9 through Jan. 29. So vote daily!

This is an opportunity for all St. Louisans to have a voice in choosing projects they think will most help Grow St. Louis. We hope you’ll support us by voting for our entry – and spread the word to all your friends and family members to vote for us, too!

Our Grow St. Louis project entry is called Babies Get an Early Head Start at Grace Hill's Centering Pregnancy Program.

Babies do not come with instructions and new moms may need some help to know how to create a nurturing, safe and healthy environment for their baby.  Many of these mothers are financially strapped and live in abusive and unsafe environments.  These challenging circumstances result in 12 % of babies born in St. Louis City with low birth weights of 5Lbs.8oz. or less.  The Centering Pregnancy Program through its Pediatrics and Early Head Start Program offers expectant and new mothers prenatal and pediatric care.   In 2010, the Centering Pregnancy Program reduced low birth weight and preterm deliveries in Grace Hill patients to 8.5%.

Grace Hill’s Centering Pregnancy Program provides security, safety, critically important care and connections so that low income young women and their babies can begin life with opportunities to be healthy, strong, safe and secure.  We work one on one with these women and provide important tools: nutrition, basic baby needs even safe, regulation car seats.

This grant support would supply these young mothers with the most basic items an infant needs:  bottles, diapers, formula, medicine, car seats, clothing, developmental toys, etc.  This grant would enable our parent focused programs to bring in tools, resources, home visits and classes/workshops to help young mothers deliver and raise full term, healthy babies.
