Our Mission

"To serve our neighbors by providing high quality health care and exceptional service, while promoting healthy lifestyles."

Grace Hill Neighborhood Health Centers, Inc. (GHNHC) was established in 1906. Grace Hill is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation, and a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).

GHNHC provides primary and preventive health care through five community health center locations, primarily to uninsured and underserved residents of St. Louis and surrounding communities. GHNHC is accredited through The Joint Commission.

GHNHC served more than 41,000 unique patients in 2008. The majority, 55 percent, has no health insurance and almost 95 percent are under 100 percent of the federal poverty level. Services for the uninsured are provided based on a sliding-fee scale.

Trusted health care is provided by well-trained and dedicated clinicians at each of our locations. These services include primary medical and dental care, podiatry, OB/GYN, pediatrics, internal medicine, and other specialties. Our community health nurses and nurse assistants provide a variety of care to high-risk pregnant mothers and babies.

A proven leader in St. Louis, GHNHC addresses the needs of our patients. In 2008, we increased our capacity through additional programs and services and hired more providers. For a decade, our Children’s Developmental Center (CDC) has served children aged from infancy to high school with developmental and behavioral problems. Expansion to a second CDC location will occur in 2009.

GHNHC also administers the Health Care for the Homeless Program for St. Louis.

Over the years, Grace Hill has forged a coalition of homeless service agencies who provide comprehensive primary care case management and substance abuse services to this highly transient group.

Services also include community health nursing and case management, respite care, on-site services provided by Grace Hill’s mobile dental van, and volunteer shelter screening sessions. GHNHC serves nearly 30 shelters located in St. Louis and several others in St. Charles, Mo.

GHNHC provides Integrated Mental Health Services in collaboration with BJC Behavioral Health. Mental Health Services for adults are now offered for adults at four Grace Hill health center locations. In addition, Grace Hill has opened a new location for adult medicine within a BJC Behavioral Health site. The mental health initiative requires co-location of services, as well as integration of numerous functions, such as appointments, registration, pharmacy, lab, IT, billing, and more.

These are just a few of the services and programs Grace Hill Neighborhood Health Centers provides. As you look at this Website, you will see an even more diverse list of programs that provide trusted care available to St. Louisans in Grace Hill’s service area.

The focus of all of these efforts and initiatives is to increase health care access to even more of the population.

The future is bright for Grace Hill Neighborhood Health Centers. With continued support and the hard work and dedication of Grace Hill’s consumers, staff and volunteers, there is much more in store for the community GHNHC reaches out to every day.
