Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: Perform the duties required to provide assistance to Teachers in the care and education of students. Essential Functions Helps guide children in practices of personal cleanliness and self-care when appropriate. Guides and assist children in eating, resting, and toileting. Assists with small group learning activities so children can develop to maximum potential. Participates in children’s learning activities. Organizes art and other learning activities. Assists teacher and teacher assistant in monitoring children at all times (including playground monitoring) Helps children develop habits of caring for personal items and putting toys away at transition times. Uses positive guidance to help guide children’s behavior. Assists teacher and teacher assistant in keeping classroom and equipment, safe, clean, and free of hazards and clutter. Attends all pre and in service training conducted by Agency. Performs other duties as assigned. Education Requirements High School Diploma or GED. Experience Requires nine (9) months (one school year) experience working with children ages three (3) to five (5), and Child Development Associate. Desired fluency in the language spoken by the families served in the program.
