Grand Opening for new Grace Hill health center, Aug. 11
By Gerald Sonnenberg
ST. LOUIS, Mo. –Grace Hill Neighborhood Health Centers will host a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony of its new Grace Hill South Health Center, tomorrow, Aug. 11 at 11 a.m. Grace Hill South Health Center is currently located at 3400 S. Jefferson. It will be moving to the Alexian Plaza Building at 3930 S. Broadway, across the street from St. Alexius Hospital. It will open to serve patients on Aug. 23. Refreshments will be served and tours of the facility given after the ceremony.
Scheduled guest speakers include Missouri State Representative Jeanette Mott Oxford and Mattie Moore, Deputy Regional Director for the St. Louis Office of U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill.
“There has been a continual increase in total patients and visits over the past three years at our South location. Our current space is simply too small to accommodate the demand. We are anxious to expand and improve our service offerings, especially to meet the needs of low income and underserved patients who are seeking a primary care medical home.”
GHNHC will occupy just under 10,000 square feet (about 70 percent) of the building, which is owned by KOBA, LLC. This will increase patient capacity by approximately 30 percent. The design for the new clinic space was created in conjunction with the Arcturis architectural firm. Musick Construction is the general contractor that oversaw the renovation project.
Approximately 80 percent of the $1.5 million budget for the project was secured through a grant awarded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
