ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Grace Hill Neighborhood Health Centers (GHNHC) hosted a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for its new Water Tower Health Center on April 30.  Approximately 400 people joined the celebration.  Missouri Governor Jeremiah “Jay” Nixon, State Senator Robin Wright Jones, State Representative James Morris, and St. Louis Alderman Freeman Bosley, Sr. were among the dignitaries in attendance.

“This new and improved Water Tower facility will continue Grace Hill’s proud tradition of providing excellent primary care services to the people of this community, and it also will be an important driver of economic growth in this neighborhood,” Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon said. “The link between health care and economic growth is clear: workers must be healthy to perform on the job, and kids must be healthy to learn in school and prepare for the jobs of tomorrow.”

The beautiful 18,500 square foot facility is located just off Grand at 4414 N. Florissant, across the street from our former location which was destroyed by fire in April 2009.  The new, state-of-the-art facility opened to patients on Monday, May 3.  Capacity for doctors, dentists and other caregivers at our Water Tower location has increased by about 30 percent.

“This truly is a blessed event,” said Alan O. Freeman, President and CEO of Grace Hill Neighborhood Health Centers. “Grace Hill is anxious to continue our important commitment to providing high-quality care to our neighbors in these communities.”

Two million dollars in funding for the project was provided by the Missouri State Legislature and endorsed by Governor Nixon. The architectural firm Arcturis designed the new facility, and Paric Construction was the general contractor.
