Grace Hill initiates Cover the Uninsured Week activities

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Grace Hill Neighborhood Health Centers, Inc. (GHNHC) and Cover the Uninsured Week (CTUW) co-sponsor Mercy CarePlus launched CTUW activities on April 23, with events at Grace Hill’s Water Tower Health Center and the 12th and Park Recreation Center.
Health screenings were conducted, and several GHNHC departments and other organizations were on hand to provide information, as well as help people with Medicaid and MO-HealthNet applications.
St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay issued a proclamation praising Grace Hill for its efforts and proclaiming April 23 - May 3 as Cover the Uninsured Week in St. Louis. Nationally, CTUW is April 27 - May 3.
That day, more than 160 people registered at the two events resulting in ight Head Start referrals, 15 HIV tests, five STD tests, 28 Mind-Body Wellness Program referrals, six MO-HealthNet applications, seven mammogram referrals, six appointments, 39 lead program referrals, and 53 blood pressure screenings. CTUW activities are scheduled through May 3.
