Grace Hill listed as St. Louis' 9th largest nonprofit organization

By Mr. Gerald Sonnenberg

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- “Grace Hill,” comprised of both Grace Hill Neighborhood Health Centers, Inc. and Grace Hill Settlement House, was listed in the St. Louis Business Journal’s Book of Lists as the 9th largest nonprofit organization in St. Louis. Grace Hill was previously ranked 10th. The ranking is based upon the combined 2007 operating budgets.

According to a source at the Area Resources for Community and Human Services organization (ARCHS), there are approximately 4,500 non-profit 501 (c) (3) corporations in the St. Louis Region. This includes St. Louis City, County and St. Charles County.

Together, the two Grace Hill entities employ approximately 500 full-time staff members who work with more than 3,500 volunteers to provide comprehensive primary health care and social services throughout metropolitan St. Louis.

Alan O. Freeman is President and CEO of Grace Hill Neighborhood Health Centers, Inc., and Roderick Jones is President and CEO of Grace Hill Settlement House. Both organizations were established more than 100 years ago in North St. Louis City to provide health care and social services and resources to immigrant populations, helping them “settle” into their new St. Louis communities.
