About Centering Pregnancy

We are excited to invite you to be part of something special at Grace Hill Health Centers--the Centering Pregnancy Program.
You have the opportunity to receive your prenatal care in a group setting that celebrates and empowers you to be your healthiest, and to have a healthy and fulfilling experience of pregnancy to best care for and nurture your growing baby. The program is a model of prenatal care that provides prenatal care to women in groups – in a supportive environment.

There are three essential
components to this approach

*Assessment – time just for you and the provider
*Education – on topics important to you
*Support – a stable group allows for building trust and support among each other

Some of the topics covered

*Nutrition
*Exercise/relaxation
*Childbirth preparation
*Infant care and feeding
*Postpartum issues
*Communication and self-esteem
*Comfort measures
*Sexuality
*Abuse issues
*Parenting

If you choose to participate in the program, you will have your initial prenatal exam in private with your health care provider. You are then invited to join a group of 8 to 12 other pregnant women to meet regularly for 10 visits at the Grace Hill South Health Center at 3930 S. Broadway.
Whether or not this is your first child, pregnancy is a time of transition and a lot of changes. We would like to help you have a positive, healing and healthy experience of nurturing and caring for yourself and your baby.
Please join us.
