Primary Care

Primary Care is provided by caring and competent staff through six accessible locations on the near north and south side of the city of St. Louis. Services are provided on a sliding fee scale and no one is denied services due to inability to pay. In 2001, almost 28,000 individual patients were served through the six Grace Hill sites.  Fifty-six percent of patients served had no health insurance and 39% were on Medicaid. Of the almost 28,000 patients served, 39% were children and 36% were homeless.

Dental care was provided to 4,183 patients, resulting in 8,372 encounters at the Grace Hill and Water Tower facilities.

OB/GYN physicians, certified nurse practitioners, and physicians’ assistants provided almost 1,300 women with pre-natal and delivery care. Six hundred and ninety-two at-risk pregnancies were case managed by community health nurse teams and medical social workers.

Pediatric Care was provided to 6,611 children and 4,148 immunizations were given.

Grace Hill’s St. Stephen’s Neighborhood Health Service served 3,987 public housing residents for over 5,000           encounters.

Grace Hill’s physicians are actively involved in a leadership capacity with numerous clinical initiatives and collaborative.

In 2001, two new sites were opened to better serve our patients. The Grace Hill South site was opened in February 2001. It is staffed by bi-lingual clinicians and support staff in order to better serve the numerous ethnic groups, primarily Hispanic, living in that area.

In September 2001, Grace Hill opened its newest site in the St. Patrick Fellowship Center to better serve the homeless, especially the mentally ill.

Owing to a declining population at the Cochran Health Center, Cochran patients were transferred to the Grace Hill site, less than one mile to the North, and the Cochran site was closed as of September 2001 through ongoing services and assessment of community needs, Grace Hill continues to provide relevant health services to meet our neighbor’s needs, and ensuring that limited resources are optimally deployed based on need.

If you would like to schedule an appointment with any of our primary care staff, please call (314) 421-4949.
